Hmong Rice Porridge in Instant Pot

Perfect dish when someone isn’t feeling well. Or just quick bite on a cold day. Cooking Rice Porridge has never been easier with a Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.

Ingredients

  • A quart of Water
  • A cup Jasmine Rice
  • Half a stalk Lemongrass
  • 2 oz Chicken (optional)
  • 1 scallions/ green onions (optional)
  • Pinch Salt

Step 1: Prepare your Ingredients

Wash and dry all produce. Chop up your chicken.

Step 2: Cook the Porridge Soup Instant Pot

In a instant pot add water and lemongrass. Set the instant pot Soup for 5-10 minutes. Add rice and lemongrass and set it to Soup for 10 minutes. Instant Pot will self shut off after 10 minutes. You can keep the lid off so you can stir, this helps keep the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Your dish is ready to be serve. You can add sauce to make it more tasty: chili oil, fish sauce, sriracha, oyster sauce, and lime. Also if you like more spice, add in slices of Thai Chili pepper(s).
